SWINE, Consisting of frontman and guitarist Michael Blakemore, Dan Clay on Bass, Rhys Hammond on Guitar and drummer Stephen Day ( formed in 2017, in Swinton, Salford. Not shortly after, the band released their debut single - The Riff - followed by their debut EP named 'Fools Britannia'. The EP, all professionally recorded in the hometown of Swinton catches the rough and early sound of the band, like setting the foundation for what was to come. In 2019, the band released 'They Hate Us' accompanied by B-side 'Diluted' both tracks highlighting current world issues such as classism, fascism and sexism whilst adding in sections to the songs influenced by Ska and Modern Rock. Later on in the year, 'Gazza B' was released, a song open to interpretation. The band emits an undertone of punk rock noise throughout every song they perform, mixed and merged in to a mesh of different genres. Anybody who has seen this band live will tell you of their chaotic and energetic stage performance. No Fightin' is the newest single, by self titled Salford's loveliest, Released on Valentines Day 14/02/2021.

I was lucky enough to review the track a month before it dropped, Compared to previous releases (Fools Britannia, They Hate Us) No Fightin' is also what frontman Michael had told me it's a tad different to past releases

No Fightin' has opened doors for SWINE as this track has hints of reggae, rock and reminds me of a track influenced by The Who and The White Stripes who collaborated and together and went on a holiday to Jamaica and got influenced by reggae in it rather than the heavy punk components, Compared to the amazing headbanging EP SWINE released in 2018 they have delivered a very steady and fabulous track and this is the first time we hear Michael showcasing his lovely melodic voice and just by listening to it I know that SWINE are going places! The track gets a 9/10 from me, The Swinton lads have done us proud!
