Twisted Wheel may also be a club in Manchester! but it is not where Jonny and the lads got their name from. Jonny actually chose the name "Twisted Wheel" from the Paul Weller track "Into Tomorrow" of which the lyrics state "Round and Round like a Twisted Wheel"
The sound of Twisted Wheel has been described as old school Rock "n" Roll and is influenced by bands such as The Jam, The Who, Oasis, Bob Dylan and The Small Faces.
As of 2019 the Twisted Wheel line up consists of Frontman Jonny Brown (Vocals and Guitar), Harry Lavin (Bass), Ben Warwick (Guitar) and Ben Robinson (Drums)
Their debut album which features iconic hits such as "You Stole The Sun" and "Lucy The Castle" was released in 2009 and "Do It Again" which is the title of their second album was released in 2012, third album "Satisfying The Ritual" was released on 20/03/2
Twisted Wheel was founded in 2007, Twisted Wheel rapidly gained fame after signing with Columbia Records in January 2008 which resulted in them supporting bands such as Kasabian and Oasis, and more recently in late 2019, Twisted Wheel supported Liam Gallagher at various shows across the UK and Dublin, where Twisted Wheel picked up more fans in Ireland and fans told Jonny via Instagram that they enjoyed them supporting Liam Gallagher so much that they would love to see Twisted Wheel come back to headline a show in Dublin! Liam Gallagher had also in the past noted Wheel as "A breath of fresh air" and admires Twisted Wheel very much.
Twisted Wheel at the O2 Ritz, Manchester 15/11/2
I was genuinely blown away at how stupendous Wheel's performance was, I was first greeted with supports of Scuttlers and DJ Dave Sweetmore who played tracks preferably from Madchester and Britpop eras.
The footage from my mobile phone on the video above is part of "You Stole the Sun" and I know the quality isn't fantastic but it is clear enough to see how much the crowd is enjoying it!
I just have no hesitation but to give the concert 10/10 was just truly outstanding, Pure Saddleworthian Talent!
