On 16/08/2019 a UFO landed on the music scene or in other words, Stockport band No Hot Ashes released their debut Album "Hardship Starship"

In my honest opinion, Hardship Starship has one of the most eye opening artwork covers compared to other artist's debut albums and I could already tell by the artwork and singles released that the album was going to be themed around space, And it was! Hardship Starship was produced by Chris Taylor (The Coral, Everything Everything) at the famous Parr Street Studios, Liverpool.

The album as always features Isaac Taylor on guitar and providing vocals with his iconic rough singing voice, Luigi Di Vuono strumming the guitar, Jack Walsh plucking the Bass and Matt Buckley on Drums.

In the opening track "Extra Terrestrial" we are introduced to space themed quotes such as "I saw you running across the sky without a spacesuit" and "The astronomical conditions couldn't phase you"

Alongside the space themed tracks a lot of meaningful topics in NHA's lyrics are in-bedded with the space theme, disguises themes such as having insufficient funds, difficult lives, crime, getting drunk, having good times and relationships etc.

No Hot Ashes released "Bellyaches" as a single in 2017, two years before their debut album dropped. Bellyaches features in the album but has been given a re record. I prefer the original release because you hear a better bass solo from what I can hear and the quality sounds a lot more better in my opinion.

I streamed the album on Spotify the day it released and I started to show my liking to it a lot more in December 2019 when I purchased the album on vinyl.

This album definitely gets a 10/10 from me, Keep streaming/buying it now! I don't know any other band that can master a debut album as stunning as No Hot Ashes releasing Hardship Starship!
