The fabulous five piece bunch from Manchester/Dewsbury, LOAstate released their fifth single "Shaolin" and announced their upcoming debut EP on the 31st July 2020.
LOAstate are brilliant when it comes to expressing their uniqueness. I wasn't too keen on their sound at first glance but after discovering the inspirational lyrics and listening to the music more often I became a huge fan. Inspired by artists such as Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar and Mac Miller, Again, artists I don't tend to listen to because it isn't really my style of music but huge respects for the artists who inspire LOAstate to create their breathtaking tracks.
Sid who fronts LOAstate is a fantastic vocalist where amazing quotes appear in every track that has been released, For example two personal favourites of mine are from Gross Domestic Happiness//Create Great "Whatever the mind can conceive can become" and "The enemy is not what you dreamt of when you were young you're an adult now boy, It's time to grow up" That style just feels like the sort of mood that motivates someone who feels down about them self.
The latest track Shaolin, has a similar if not the same rhythm as Why Me Why which and from what I can hear, Shaolin contains a lot more backing vocals than the previous tracks. Shaolin also shares a common LOAstate trait, It is very catchy. It's another great tune but still sounds a lot like the other tracks which again is a great thing for LOAstate being themselves, Shaolin gets a 9/10 from me, Great as ever! Stay tuned for more LOAstate tracks on the way!!
