Danke The third album from IDLES began to lift off in May 2020 when they released their first single from the album "Mr. Motivator" I was fortunate enough to receive the headbanging, phenomenal new album from IDLES a day early on vinyl from the amazing guys from Wax and Beans, A record shop cafe in Bury where I have purchased Brutalism and Joy As An Act of Resistance from in the past and it's such a cool place to have a coffee and buy vinyl from! If you're around Bury definitely call in! Ultra Mono is a Rottweiler scratching and barking to get out if it's cage to promote the world to be a better place, It's just what you want and expect from an IDLES album it's hefty, it's jam packed with kindness and it's filled with love. But is also themed around struggles with topics such as toxic masculinity, mental health and class struggles. IDLES recorded Ultra Mono in 2019. However, In May 2020 IDLES came back with a bang and released "Mr. Motivator" a promotional single from Ultra Mono. This was also hinted a few days prior to the release of Mr. Motivator when IDLES invited fans to "Get Fit With Dev"showing bassist Dev working out and quoting lyrics from the track. A month afterwards Grounds, Another track promoting the album was released. Many fans asked either "Did you hear that thunder" or "Kanye West inspired?" about Grounds another catchy yet breathtaking IDLES track, then A Hymn and Model Village released as singles to inform what awesomeness we are in for! Go stream it, Drop your needle on it and I guarantee it will not let you down! It will teach you stuff. 9/10. |
